Happy Birthday Little Man

How in the world is our little man 7 YEARS OLD already??!!  We can't believe how fast you're growing up, and although we'd love to freeze time and keep you small forever, we enjoy each and every stage you grow up and go through.  We love you more than you'll ever know and all the way to the moon and back!  Happy Birthday, Carter! We celebrated the "family" birthday at the AmericInn in Virginia (where we had Amelia's party and other parties for Carter in the past).  They have a really nice party room poolside and the water is like a bath.  What a fun way to hang out and celebrate our favorite little boy!

Carter's birthday celebration happened to fall on the same weekend as a big Sopp family reunion.  So, Mommy's cousin Kyle and his family and Auntie Mim and Uncle Floyd from Wisconsin were here too!  Kyle has 3 boys and Carter is right in the middle of the two oldest (who were 8 and 6 this summer).  They had an awesome time playing together all weekend long!
Dun da dun da...dun da dun... LOVE Indiana Jones!  He also loved his Nintendo DS, scooter, Blokus block game, create-your-own superhero set, money to stock his savings account, and shoes with wheels.  At home, Mommy and Daddy had a basketball hoop (the REALLY tall and official ones...not the plastic Little Tyke one that he's "too old for now Mommy") ready to go.  We're just not sure who enjoys it more...Carter or Daddy!  Thanks to our great family for helping to celebrate this special day for our little guy!
We love the small-town bakery in Virginia!  They decorate the cake up with bright colors and let us put our "guys" on it to create the theme - which was Transformers this year!
And the "friend" party...at Pump It Up...with 24 kids plus our 2 = 26 total!  Although crazy as that sounds, the 2nd mortgage that we needed to take out in order to pay for it was well worth it as the kids had a BLAST jumping and playing in all the inflatables.  Carter loved being able to invite pretty much everyone that he could think of and Mommy loved that the party attendants took care of everything (from setting up the eating room to organizing the kids for this group shot to monitoring how many kids were allowed in the boxing jumper to writing down the gifts and who they were from and to cleaning everything up).  All in all, it was GREAT!
So Mommy went a little overboard...we actually ended up only using the cupcakes and 2 slices of cake at the party.  But, that meant lots of cake leftover to take home for her!
Carter got to sit in the big "throne" to blow out candles and open gifts!
Can't go wrong with kids and pizza!
Thanks to all of Carter's friends for sharing this special day with him.  He loves being with all of you!
