We're Gonna Win Twins...or not

On Thursday, the Twins Wives Association was partnering with Majors Sports Bar in Bloomington to host a Twins player night!  Many players were hanging out and being guest bartenders.  Carter and Daddy made their rounds to gather autographs on baseball cards and Carter's favorite Wii game (MLB Power Pros - in which he always plays for the Twins).  We even snagged a few pictures with some of the players who were not behind the bar!  Here's Carter with Michael Cuddyer and Brian Duensing.
Needless to say, Carter's 51 inches were nothing compared to Joe Nathan's 6'5" stature!  So, he commented on Carter being a little too short, lifted him up, and set him on the pool table!  Carter was beaming!
Thanks, Papa, for getting us 4 tickets to the Twins game against the Angels!  We're all set to head out to catch the train to the Dome!  Thanks, Nana, for staying with Amelia for the evening!  You can join in the Twins fun in a couple of years, Amelia, we promise!  (P.S.  I'm not sure if we have a picture against the fireplace wall in our 3-season porch / "breezeway".  3 years ago, Billy and his dad - a wonderful mason by trade - did this entire wall surrounding the fireplace with rock.  Beautiful job Grandpa Hanson and Daddy!)

Our own mini Joe Mauer!  These Mauer sideburns were part of a grab bag of goodies that Carter got!  He left them on for almost the entire game before they got too itchy and needed to be removed.  (Hopefully the red marks that were left behind won't last too long!)
Mommy loved how close warm ups were to our seats on account of her small crush on Joe Mauer.
Bye-bye Metrodome.  Will this be our last visit before the Twins see the light of day in their new stadium?  29 home games and counting...
It's very sad...Mommy remembers the annual trips to the Cities in the summer for Valleyfair, school shopping, and a Twins game when she was little and growing up.  It's weird how nostalgic things like this are...
We were 6 rows up in left field, right behind one of Carter's favorite players.  Although, no matter how much the people in front of us shouted "Span", he just wouldn't turn around.  We told Carter to take note of his devotion to paying attention to the game - even in the outfield!
Tied 5-5 in the 11th inning.  (We were even sitting near where Mauer hit is 3-run home run!) Lacking any real relief pitching (or as Mommy in her infinite baseball coaching expertise is confident it was due to letting Nathan pitch only 1 inning), the Twinkies ended up losing 11-5.  What a bummer!  Here are the boys on the VERY late train ride home.
