We Love You Grandpa Hanson

I debated for a very long time about whether or not it was appropriate to blog about this.  Then, I decided that since blogging is my attempt to track and preserve the kids' lives, it most certainly is. So...
It is with an incredibly sad heart that we share the unexpected loss of Billy's dad / Grandpa Hanson on June 24.  After having emergency surgery to repair the wall of his aorta, his body was just too tired to recover.  We cannot even begin to share how devastating it is to lose a parent / grandparent.  While those words just don't even flow, what we can share is the love and admiration and memories that we will always carry with us having had the opportunity for Dad / Grandpa to bless our lives.  He is an incredible man - loved and admired by all, and we will miss him each and every day more than words can even say.  We LOVE you so much Dad/Bill/Grandpa!One of the things so prevalent in Grandpa's life...his animals.  He took such good care of them and they meant so much to him.  (This picture was from the fall of 2005.  Carter was about 3 and Grandpa was 72.)

Music...besides responsibility, hard-work, and devotion, it was another of the blessings that Grandpa left us with.  His talent for and admiration of music will always be a memory that lives long and hard in our hearts and minds.   (This picture was from the fall of 2005.  Billy's playing the red lead guitar and Grandpa - like usual - was on bass with his white cowboy hat.)
