Nashville-Bound

Time for a mommy and daddy get-away! We left in the middle of the night on Thursday and arrived home in the evening on Sunday. When we were planning where to head off to...it was no contest!
Here we are at the airport...ready to start the vacation!
While the main goal of this trip is to check out country music history, we couldn't resist a stop at the local mall first. Well, "we" isn't probably 100% accurate...more like "me". In any event, we picked up some gifts, had a yummy meal at Macaroni Grill, and got our bearings in a new city. And, we thought that the speed limit sign was quite funny. Not 20 mph...not 25 mph...24 it is!

A historical walk through the integral members of country music's foundation. Here's an actual costume from one of Billy's dad's contacts.
This is the real deal...the original Grand Ole Opry stage at the Ryman Theatre downtown. Here's where country music all started!
The mixing board in Studio B...old school style.
Studio B at the Country Music Hall of Fame has the original format from when Elvis recorded multiple hits. Elvis sat at this very piano and played many song takes in his era! And, YES, we were given authorization to touch...we didn't want to risk being thrown out of town.
We couldn't leave without a picture of Billy's favorite hall of fame-er...Vince Gill.
Maybe we'll see your picture up here some day, honey! :)
Deep fried pickles at the Red Horse Saloon = YUMMY! This restaurant/bar was 3 stories tall with a large center for line dancing. All 3 stories overlooked the stage and dance floor. If the pickles wouldn't have been SO good, we may have tried the dancing!

While it was GREAT to spend time alone together and our short time flew by, we were both so excited to see the kids. Almost 3 days without you two was just too long!
