You Do the Crime...You Do the Time

So, it was pick up time at day care. As Mommy was getting her boots back on at the door, Amelia was patiently waiting at the door when her BFF walked on over to wait there too. Well, best of friends during the day = had enough of each other by pick up time. There was a scuffle, Amelia had had enough, and she pushed Addi away from the door. Here's how the following conversation went:
"Oh no...pushing is NO. We say sorry and give a hug to Addi."
"No sorry Addi."
"Amelia, we say sorry."
"No sorry Addi."
"Amelia, we say sorry or we take a time out."
"OK (shrug)...time out."

Although that didn't go as planned, Parenting101 says to always follow through with a consequence. So, here's Amelia's first time out that we took when we got home. (Although, Parenting101 also says to not give a child a choice if they really don't have one. So, since it was presented as a choice, we had to live with Amelia's choice!)
Thank goodness that time-outs only last 1 minute per year of age. I don't think that any of us could've handled it much longer. ("Mom, how can I read with that loud screaming?" says Carter) Here is everyone...happy once again!
